GridGain
Working through my usual backlog of blog today I found a blog comment on an article about Hadoop and GridGain. Although I’d heard of Hadoop before GridGain is a new product for me, which (from watching the screencast) simplifies Java grid computing to a couple of annotations!
It’s great to see mature open source libraries like GridGain which enable software developers to easily drop in extremely timeconsuming and complex functionality into their applications. It’s another example of a library which as soon as I read about I’m desparate to try out… just need to dream up an application now!
Missing the boat
I seem to keep reading about conferences and talks through their review. Ironically these things seemed to talked about in blogs I read but announced on sites I don’t. I must be missing out on some great events.
Sadly I’m also working away from home (hence for irregular and infrequent updates) which means that getting to events is very difficult. Hopefully over time more of these events (such as the London Python event next Tuesday, 6th May) will be recorded and put into YouTube/GoogleVideo for the rest of the world to enjoy.
